Ben is the founder and Senior Pastor of Ministerio Un Paso de Fe/Step of Faith Ministries in North Fort Myers, Florida since 2002.
The church is now a bi-lingual church with more than 600 members. It was a way for the Puerto Rican pastor to help bridge the gap for one of the area's fastest-growing populations. Ben’s desire is for his church to be a place of hope. Ben has had the honor of being invited to preach God’s word internationally.
He is also the founder of Kingdom Business Men and Women (KBMW) a marketplace business ministry where he has been able to develop and encourage over 40 business owners.
He received a Bachelor's degree in Education at the University of South Florida. He began his career as an Educator in the Lee County School District. Ben is an author and wrote his first book titled “It’s Not About You” that is currently out in both hard copy and digital form. Ben is also a John Maxwell certified coach, speaker and trainer. Ben and his wife Analiz have three children: Janelle, Caleb, and Joseph. They currently reside in Cape Coral, Florida.
Ben is actively engaged in the community and served as the Chair for the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Festival and 5K event. Ben also sits on the Lee County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Committee.
In 2020, Ben opened a thrift store, Step of Faith Ministries Thrift Store, which serves a special purpose here in Southwest Florida. One hundred percent of the profit goes to missions.
In 2021, the store was voted the best thrift store of North Fort Myers.
“Love your neighbor as thyself," Pastor Flecha said. These few short words have been a guiding light for the Southwest Florida Pastor though his journey to the pulpit.
