Latin Times Magazine:  Tell us about where you are from, and your family. Damienn Mendez:  I raised in Houston Texas family (dad side) from azua Dominican republic and (Mom side) Louisiana creole. My mom is creole and dad is Dominican.  Mi mamá y papá se separaron a una edad temprana, así que voy de un lado a otro en mi niñez, tuve mucho tiempo con mi padre, expeler mis raíces dominicanas, la música, la comida,ect  I have Family aunts and uncles in Washington heights and the Bronx.

Latin Times Magazine: What inspired me to sing
Damienn Mendez:  It was my dad he would play Latin music all the time i would visit him.  Old Spanish music and drink and smoke and dance.  Music by Selena (chop n screwed version) to tejano to Amanda Miguel, Celia Cruz, Juan Luis Guerra y la lista continuar diiiiimee!

Latin Times Magazine:  Tell us about some of your musical accomplishments
Damienn Mendez:  I worked with lil flip in 2005-10.  I did a music video and a song and went on tour with Clover GZZ in 2006.  I also did a song with Latin Grammy nominated Juan Gotti in 2005 for his mix tape .  In 2015 won a Anais star search contest.  So grateful for that shes amazing person a legend and o.g. in the game best friend of mine my big sister omg

Latin Times Magazine:  Tell us about some of the exciting things you have coming up                                                  w Damienn Mendez:  My up coming project will be out this year with a lot of guess surprises.  Estoy feliz and Blessed!

Latin Times Magazine:  Do you like Cuban Sandwiches? who makes your favorite?
Damienn Mendez:  Yessssssssirrperoi gotta watch my diet one of my weakness.  Florida has the best.  Yo Hartura

Latin Times Magazine:  What advise can you offer young Latinos with a dream of making it big?
Damienn Mendez:  Keep god first.  Stay focused stay hungry.  No deja esa vaina labels they come to you, Simpre adelente nitido stay fly always.

Latin Times Magazine:  Who has been your biggest inspiration?
Damienn Mendez:  My dad Gary Mendez RIP.  And of course my best friend Anais. Before my father passed away when i was seventeen he would always go to or try to go to my talent shows and would do karaoke with me mostly in New York when we would visit family.

Anais is a legend in the game and a great friend and a positive role model and always gives me great advice and is a strong woman of god.
